Galius Klicius

Galius Klicius ( born 1950 in Vilnius, Lithuania) is a painter, theatre cinema artist. He studied in
M. K. Ciurlionis art school, later in Vilnius state art institute. Graduated in 1973 and obtained
theatre painters qualification. Has created scenographies and costumes for 40 plays in various
theatres of Lithuania, also was an artist of 22 Lithuanian movies and TV films. His film art direction credits include productions by BBC Classical Music Television, Showtime Networks,
USA Networks and other Company Pictures. A member of Lithuanian artist union from 1983.
Laureate of state Premium (1980); Laureate of the Baltic scenography trienal (1989); Laureate of
culture and art premium of Lithuanian goverment (2012); Silver Crane award winner (2008, 2011,
2017). Laureate of Antanas Gudaitis painting competition (2012). Participated in scenography
exhibitions in Vilnius, Ryga, Tallinn, Prague (1981, 1983, 1985, 1989, 2007). Organizes his
personal exhibitions of works in 1993, 1994, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2017, 2019. His painted scenes and
characters are of different implications, half real, inimagery that seems unfinished there is a mixture
of paradox, humor, irony and sadness – like in many sided perfofmance.
