Galius Klicius

Galius Klicius is a theater artist and an accomplished scenographer. He has won three Silver Crane Awards, and is the laureate of the State Prize. The scenographer started painting in 1993 in his free time from theater and cinema. His painted canvases captivates like the theater itself. The subjects are casual and abstract, but the characters carry weight and drama. Each painting is mesmerizing and engaging like an interesting book chapter or a scene in a play. Galius says he paints in order to return to something he has missed or to chase something that has already moved ahead. It is like stopping the time, like a fixation. “I just want some beauty and peace,” he says, explaining why he finds time to paint after work with theater and cinema.
