About
The individualist section of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union unites professional Lithuanian painters, graphic artists, sculptors who are indifferent to the culture and history of their country, who feel a natural connection with their ethnic roots and seek ways to integrate inherited traditions into the development of contemporary art. Respect for the continuity of culture is also evidenced by the name of the group, taken over from the Section of Individualists operating in Lithuania in 1939, which united the famous artists of that time, who laid the foundations of modernism for Lithuanian national art. By interpreting modern art individually, following the tendencies of world art, they try not to lose touch with the national identity of our small country, not to dissolve in the globalized space of constantly changing art processes |
