Juozapas Antanas Gelguda
| Juozapas Antanas Gelguda was born in 1938 in Kalvaria, Lithuania. In 1941, he was deported to Siberia together with his parents and elder brother Vytautas, who also became an artist. Upon return, J. A. Gelguda started studying Graphics at Vilnius Art Institute and graduated from it in 1966. He takes part in the exhibitions and competitions from 1966. He is the member of the Union of Artists of Lithuania from 1970. From 1987 he participates in exhibitions with paintings in watercolor. The paintings of artist are purchased by museums in Lithuania and Poland and private collectors in Canada, USA, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and Japan. He lives and works in Vilnius. |
