Alvydas Stauskas
About painting and watercolor. Alvydas Stauskas likes to observe nature, be in it, and communicate directly with the environment. He feels a longing for the Lithuanian landscape, for the homesteads of endangered villages, therefore there are almost no images of the city or signs of modern civilization in his works. He attempts to stop time in his paintings, to capture what will be gone tomorrow. The artist says that he is conservative, even maybe a bit old-fashioned, but it can be called different: maintaining certainty, not losing contact with the environment, nature, which nourishes the spirit with its creative juices. According to art critics, “with his work, the artist invites to reflect and feel the changing surrounding world, which enriches us with strong emotions: it is the language of meadows, garden blooms, lakes and sky spaces, trees, and water. Alvydas Stauskas avoids intricate undertones, conveys the beauty of nature in calm tones of color, and harmonious rings help to create harmony.” About photography Photographs by Alvydas Stauskas from the cycle “Metamorphoses of Water” were created over twenty years ago. They invite us to reflect and feel the changing world around us, enriched with strong emotions. It is the language of water. Water flow, ice, objects frozen in ice. The artist avoids intricate undertones, conveys the beauty of nature in calm, subtle tones of colors and textures, and the harmony is complemented by mystical plots with a philosophical undertone, delving into the microworld and ecology. |
