Ina Budryte
Ina Budryte studied monumental painting at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. After graduation, she successfully painted an ensemble of multifigure frescoes in Antakalnis hospital and polyclinic. After completing this task in 1987, she irretrievably took a different path and created only paintings of chamber sizes. Tempera, gouache, watercolor, mascara, coal and pastel crayons I. Budrytė has become and draws on sheets of cardboard and paper. Even having set up a fairly spacious studio a few years ago, the artist is faithful to the latter medium. Painting and drawing on paper are important to Budryte as a delicate and at the same time sincere and expressive instrument. By preserving the intimacy of privacy, the artist can foster quirkiness and boldly allow herself to explore the mysterious life of nobody’s land, between reality and imagination. Raminta Jurėnaitė |
