Marius Skudzinskas
Marius Skudžinskas has been active in Lithuanian cultural life since 2000, when he participated in his first group exhibitions. Until this year, he participated in more than 70 group exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad, alongside such significant ones as in 2008 Biennale of European and Mediterranean young artists, held in Bari, Italy. The artist also organized three personal exhibitions, curated exhibitions himself and participated in various creative projects. The influence of object art is evident in Marius’s work. Various materials are used in his works, and it often appears as if the very form of the work is dictated by the material. The sculptures are strongly influenced by animation and traditional, folk art, as well as popular culture images are also evident. The artist’s work is marked by irony, the plots are dominated by his own stories. Elena Sakalė |
