Works in the fields of prints, as well as drawing. The artist’s works are dominated by themes of Lithuanian history, struggles for freedom, love of homeland and family. Vladas Liatukas’ work revolves around the expression of ideas in several sheets, so they are often combined into triptychs or larger cycles. To highlight tragedy, gloom and tension, intaglio printing techniques are chosen: a combination of aquatint, lavish, reserve, and sometimes a soft varnish. The structure of the artist’s images is laconic, their language is metaphorical, but easy to understand. It is often declarative, poster-like. |
