Voldemaras Barakauskas

The most striking and typical works of Voldemaras Barakauskas are watercolours of individual technique, however, the areas of his creation is oil painting and pictures, modeled by smoke, and sculptural objects. The originality of author”s painting is watercolour painting technique, which is invented by him, employing paper friction scrape and burning. This allows creating different objects, adjusting and combining them in various manners.
The creation of Voldemaras is not only the search for painting”s subtlety. It is the creation of various provocations and peculiar tests for spectators. He provides certain tasks or codes in his paintings or mystifying actions. The purpose of spectator is to discover the deepest turn of thought. It is a game-to notice hidden thread of sense among millions of allusions and to unreel it. The themes, which are developed in his paintings, re being flexibly ruled by author: one thought here is hidden in another one.
