Vilija Gldikaite

As far back as I can remember, I have always drawn and used the most common means of expression – simple graphite, as it has always been suitable for creating the line of an object, the volume of a fold, the texture of a plant, or the mood of a portrait or a figure.
I choose topics for my work from the abundance of human senses: thoughts, fears, feelings and emotions. In nature, I see many textured associations that help create mood and impression. I really like still life, I associate the forms of objects or drapery with the forms of nature, I look for textural and emotional equivalents, material harmony.
The techniques of my work are etching, simple graphite, colored pencils and pastel.
I have organized 12 author exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. I have also participated in joint international Ex libris, small graphics and group exhibitions with artists from Klaipeda, Panevezys and Vilnius.
